CARSON CITY, Nev. - One person is in custody tonight in connection with the investigation into Wednesday's double homicide in South Reno.

Washoe County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Bob Harmon told South Tahoe Now that one person was arrested on Woodside Drive in Carson City on charges of possession of stolen property. He said the person is not necessarily a suspect for the murders but is involved in some way with the investigation.

Earlier in the night a car was removed from the parking lot adjacent to Red's 395 Grill that is also thought to be connected to the investigation into the murders of 81-year-old Gerald David, a former Reno Rodeo President, and his wife, 80-year-old Sharon David on January 16, 2019.

Harmon said that car has been impounded.

At this time there is no mention about the arrest being connected to the two Douglas County murders. On January 10, 56-year-old Gardnerville resident Connie Koontz was found shot in her home, and on January 13, the body of 74-year-old Sophia Renken was found in her Gardnerville home less than a mile away from Koontz.

Harmon said he expects to get a news release out with more information on Sunday, January 20. At this time he does not have the name of the suspect, the age, or the place of residence.

This is a developing story and check back on South Tahoe Now or CarsonNow.org for further details.
