Eric Nageotte-Lowe Memorial fundraiser to benefit Heavenly Foundation teams

The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation will host the Eric Nageotte-Lowe Memorial Fundraiser to celebrate the life of former South Lake Tahoe resident and Heavenly Freestyle Team member, Eric Nageotte-Lowe this Saturday, Jan. 26, from 5pm to 8pm at the Himmel Haus, 2819 Saddle Rd. across from Heavenly Mountain’s California base area.

“While Eric was a great skier,” said his coach Jere Crawford, “he was an even better person.”

The Nageotte-Lowe families generously support the Heavenly Freestyle & Freeride Team in the development of young athletes to follow in the footsteps of Eric, in his love of freestyle and skiing. Eric was a longtime, hard-working Heavenly Freestyle Team member.

His successes as a National Level Competitor never overshadowed his good-natured, fun personality. His favorite trick was the Heli X and he was like a big brother to his younger teammates. He is remembered as a great guy and a great teammate, with a smile that lit up the room. His passing was not only a tremendous loss to his close friends and family, but to the entire South Shore community.

On Saturday evening beginning at 5pm, we will gather at the Himmel Haus to celebrate the memory of a great team member and friend, Eric Nageotte-Lowe. We’ll share stories over delicious German food and beer enjoying the music of local progressive funk musicians Groovebox. The “Spirit of the Sky” awards ceremony will begin at 6:30pm. The Himmel Haus will make a donation from their food and beer sales to our Fund. Guests can participate in our huge raffle, meet and mingle with Heavenly Team Members, Alumni, and Coaches. 2012 USSA Coach of the Year Jere Crawford will be in attendance, as well as World Cup mogul superstar Sho Kashima.

On behalf of the Eric Nageotte-Lowe Memorial Fund and the Heavenly Freestyle & Freeride Team, we invite you to join our event. All proceeds will directly benefit ALL team members. Each season the Eric Nageotte-Lowe Memorial Fund provides the monies for our dry-land training program and the purchase of team uniforms.

If you need more information or you’re unable to attend the event and would like to make a direct donation to The Eric Nageotte-Lowe Memorial Fund please contact Foundation director Aimi Xistra-Rich at (530) 314-9285. The Eric Nageotte-Lowe Memorial Fund is a division of the Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation, Tax ID # 88-024043, all donations are tax deductible.

About the Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation
The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation is committed to facilitating and leading the local community in the development of programs to encourage youth to participate in winter sports, alpine skiing and snowboarding. The HSSF operates independently on donations and fundraisers. In addition to providing a safe skiing and riding experience to those within the foundation, outreach and community involvement also play a big part of the base of the Foundation. Throughout the winter season the HSSF provides scholarships to families whose children would not be able to participate in the race program; hosts a non-race Blue Angels program through the middle school; works with the SOS (Snowsports Outreach Society); works with the Boys and Girls Club of South Lake Tahoe; and organizes multiple events, like the Kinder Kup race series, and fundraisers including the annual spring wine gala, Grapes and Gates, at Edgewood.
