Earthquakes centered southeast of Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There was a 3.54 magnitude earthquake centered 12.5 miles west of Topaz Lake and south of Markleeville at 5:41 p.m. Tuesday, according to the University of Nevada Reno Seismology Lab. USGS reported the quake at 3.8 magnitude and at a depth of .8 miles.

Several people in South Lake Tahoe reported feeling it.

UNR Seismology placed it at a depth of 13.87 km (8.6 miles).

This was followed by 1.3m, 1.4m, and 1.5m earthquakes closer to the junction of SR89/SR4.
