South Tahoe High Hoops Report

In front of family and friends, the South Tahoe High seniors took to the court for their final regular season home game on Saturday against Fernley High. It what is referred to as the "Senior Game," a special ceremony honored the senior class members of the boys and girls basketball teams, cheerleaders and dance team members.

It was a close game for all 4 quarters of the boys' varsity game, with Fernley holding onto a 65-58 win over South Tahoe.

The Varsity Girls' team, led by 13 points scored by Kayla Griffis, beat Fernley by a score of 55-37.

Many families enjoyed the afternoon of basketball, benefiting with free entrance due to a $1,000 donation by an anonymous donor who wanted to encourage everyone to attend. A restriction had been placed on the game earlier in the week, allowing only students who were with their parents to attend. Shortly before game time on Saturday the ban was lifted.

The South Tahoe teams travel to Sparks for their next games against Sparks.
