Tahoma murder suspect identified

LAKE TAHOE, CALIF. - Sunday's suspicious death in Tahoma has officially been ruled a homicide by El Dorado County Sheriff’s Detectives.

Jeremy David Virgo, 47, was arrested for murder after a chase ensued after deputies from El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) responded to shots being fired in the area of Timber Wolf Drive and Alder Street in the West Shore community of Tahoma.

A deputy, who lives in the area, was the first to respond and saw Virgo leaving the home where shots were heard. As the suspect fled he rammed into the rear of a car driven by a resident, according to witnesses. He then led the deputy on a chase that ended three miles later in the parking lot of Homewood Ski Resort.

After the suspect was apprehended, deputies went to the home where they found the body of a woman. Her identity will not be released until next of kin notifications have been made.

EDSO Crime Scene investigators worked at the scene until Monday morning.

At this time no new information is available.

Virgo is being held in the EDSO jail in Placerville without bail.
