COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County is reporting 27 more residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since yesterday (this large number is from Jan/Feb cases just being entered by CalREDIE. All cases are old.) The County's health officer announced 2 are from Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 2 in El Dorado Hills, 0 in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, 0 in North County, 2 in Greater Placerville, 1 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, 0 in South County, 19* in Lake Tahoe region. Awaiting address confirmation from today's count: 1. Total now awaiting address confirmation: 108.
Of those new cases, 2 are under the age of 18, 15 are age 18-49, 7 are aged 50-64, and 3 aged 65 or older. Awaiting age confirmation from today's county: 0. Total birthdate unknown to date: 12.
There have been another 37 assumed recoveries with 414 assumed active cases.
There have been an additional 495 negative results received.
There are currently 3 COVID-19 patients hospitalized with 2 of them in the ICU. As of today, there are 2 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Barton, both of them in the ICU; 1 hospitalized due to COVID-19 at Marshall with 0 of them in the ICU. There is one suspected COVID-positive patient in the ICU at Barton. Also according to the State website, Barton has 2 available ICU beds, Marshall 0.
There has been no additional deaths, the total for El Dorado County residents dying from COVID-19 is 100.

The county moved to the Red Tier, effective 3/3/21.
Three areas of the county have moved out of the High Tier (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 100). North County and Camino, Kyburz, Pollock Pines are in the Moderate Tier (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 26-99 and South County is in the Low Tier (25 or less per 100,000 for last 14 days). The rest of the areas are in the High Tier.
County-wide there have been 9,195 cases with 2,415 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).
