Some El Dorado County buildings closed due to snow; Courts still open

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - Many El Dorado County offices in South Lake Tahoe and other areas are closed Monday due to snow.

El Dorado County officials have closed the following buildings due to weather conditions:

Planning and Building

Environmental Management and Union Mine Disposal Site
Department of Transportation (other than road and snow crew)
Airports, Cemeteries, Parks
District Attorney
County Counsel
Child Support Services
Auditor
CAO's office
Human Resources
Assessor
Surveyor
Elections
All Health and Human Services with the exception of the Psychiatric Health Facility

The following offices are open or partially open to the public:
Recorder-Clerk – Open in Placerville, closed in South Lake Tahoe
Public Defender – Open in Shingle Springs, but with limited staff; may have to close to the public in the afternoon. Anyone planning to physically go to the office should call 530-621-6440 first. Closed in South Lake Tahoe
Treasurer - Tax Collector – Open
Board Clerk – Open but with limited staff
Air Quality Management District – Open but with limited staff
All County Libraries are closed to the public due to the COVID-19 virus.

The El Dorado County Superior Court is still open and cases are being heard.
