The scheduled renovations at the South Lake Tahoe office of the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) have been postponed until a future date. They are alerting local customers that the work will not go on March 26 - April 1 as planned because of weather conditions.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 11 p.m. Tuesday night until 5 a.m. Thursday. The snow is expected to begin tonight and the heaviest is expected during the day tomorrow. The Lake Tahoe area is expected to get three to eight inches of snow which will create hazardous driving conditions on all Sierra passes.
The DMV will reschedule the renovation closure for a future date.
