Douglas County hires new assistant county manager

Douglas County has announced the hiring of a new assistant county manager to replace Bradley Hurley who left in October, 2017 after holding the position for just four days.

Jenifer Davidson, a Douglas High graduate, has been hired at a salary of $114,920.

In January, 2018, the County accepted applications for the job. The salary range is $100,796 - $151,195 and requires one to be not only an effective leader, they must be team-oriented with effective interpersonal skills and highly motivated with seven years of public administration or business management experience.

An extensive series of interviews were conducted with a focus on obtaining broad scope and insight from a variety of perspectives. The Interview Architect system by Korn Ferry, was utilized to develop interview questions for a competency-based interview approach proven to provide better predictors of behaviors. This competitive process yielded Jenifer Davison as the strongest candidate.

In 2011 Jenifer was appointed to the position of Minden Town Manager by the Town Board. She previously served as an Administrative Services Manager at China Spring from 2008 to 2011. Jenifer is a Certified Public Official through the Nevada League of Cities and Municipalities.

Jenifer graduated Douglas High School in 2000. She went on to attend Boise State University where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Law, Philosophy and Administration. While in college, Jenifer worked at the United States Attorney’s Office in Boise, Idaho. She was a member of the Leadership Douglas County class of 2013 and a recently (2017) completed the University of Nevada, Reno Supervisory Management Program.

The majority of Jenifer’s extended family still currently resides in Douglas County. She and her husband Ryan were married in the spring of 2012. Ryan is a Sergeant First Class in the Nevada Army National Guard stationed in Carson City serving since 2004.
