Sixth Annual Memorial Celebration in Honor of Sgt. Timothy Smith set for April 7

The 6th Annual Memorial Celebration in Honor of Sgt. Timothy Smith of South Lake Tahoe will be held on Monday, April 7 at his mother Patty Smith's home.

Sgt. Smith, 25, of South Lake Tahoe, assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), located at Fort Polk, La.; died April 7 2008 in Baghdad of wounds sustained when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device.

Patty has invited friends to a pot luck Celebration of Timothy's life that will include Tribute Tree and flower plantings. She is asking people to bring happy and fun stories of her son as well as something to be placed on the tree such as ornaments or keepsakes.

The ceremony will be held at 848 Placer Avenue in South Lake Tahoe from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

People are asked to bring a side dish, casserole, appetizer, dessert, salad or anything they wish. It is BYOB.
