Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe names new VP/GM

Gaming veteran Chris Fiumara has been named as the new vice president and general manager of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in South Lake Tahoe.

The former man in the position, Don Marrandino, left a month ago after overseeing the construction and opening phases of the Hard Rock which opened January 28, 2015.

Fiumara has more than 27 years of experience in the resort and gaming industry, including the past 18 years in several senior-level operational and development positions at Station Casinos. He has held leadership positions including: director of operations development, director of marketing at Green Valley Ranch and vice president and general manager at various Station properties, most recently serving as the vice president and general manager of Palace Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

“We are fortunate to have a gaming and hospitality leader like Chris oversee the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe,” said Bill Warner, CEO of Warner Hospitality. “Chris brings exceptional operational and property development experience to us, and will ensure we deliver on the guest experience the brand is known for worldwide and the resort destination vision we have for this property.”

Fiumara spent his first week on the job meeting with property employees and the resort’s entertainment, dining and hotel operations.

“I was here for the grand opening in January and was impressed by the tremendous community support and enthusiasm for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe,” said Fiumara. “I look forward to meeting with local residents, our fellow tourism partners and business leaders as a member of this community. We’re pleased to roll out a new industry program for locals later this month - our way of thanking area residents and tourism employees for their support. It’s an exciting time for South Shore and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of where we’re headed and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s role in getting us there.”
