COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County is reporting 58 more residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Friday: 0 from Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 12 in El Dorado Hills, 1 in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, 8 in North County, 9 in Greater Placerville, 12 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, 0 in South County, 14 in Lake Tahoe region. Awaiting address confirmation from today's count: 2. Total now awaiting address confirmation: 96.

Of those new cases, 9 are under the age of 18, 30 are age 18-49, 16 are aged 50-64, and 3 aged 65 or older. Awaiting age confirmation from today's count: 0. Total birthdate unknown to date: 11.

There have been another 27 assumed recoveries with 456 assumed active cases.

There have been an additional 1834 negative results received.

There are currently 2 COVID-19 patient hospitalized and 2 of those are in the ICU. As of today, Barton has 1 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in the ICU and 1 hospitalized due to COVID-19 at Marshall in the ICU. There are 0 suspected COVID-positive patients. Also according to the State website, Barton has 4 available ICU beds, Marshall 1.

There have been no additional deaths. Since March 2020 there have been 109 COVID-related deaths in El Dorado County.

With respect to the tier assignment measures (and which color tiers those numbers fall in):

Quad-County COVID-19 Update: Weekend Update and Daily Update
Saturday (4/17/2021)
There were 28 new cases and 13 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brought the total number of cases to 12,234, with 11,589 recoveries and 222 deaths; 423 cases remained active.

Sunday (4/18/2021)
There were 9 new cases and 16 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brought the total number of cases to 12,243, with 11,605 recoveries and 222 deaths; 416 cases remained active.

Monday (4/19/2021)
Today we are reporting 2 additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. The individuals were a female Lyon County resident in her 80’s and a female Lyon County resident in her 50’s. We are also reporting 25 new cases and 17 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. The weekend numbers and today’s numbers bring the total number of cases to 12,268, with 11,622 recoveries and 224 deaths; 422 cases remain active.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center reports an additional death related to COVID-19. 148 new cases, and 120 recoveries in the last three days. The deceased is a man in his 70s, but it has not yet been determined whether there were underlying conditions. There have been 665 COVID-19 related deaths in Washoe County since March 2020.

There have been 127 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Friday.

Lake Tahoe area cases - 164 (+0) are in Tahoe City 540.7 cases/100,000, 383 (+2) in Kings Beach 960.4 cases/100,000, 64 (+0) in Olympic Valley 482.7 cases/100,000, 87 (+0) in Truckee 46.8 cases/100,000, 61 (+3) in Carnelian Bay 367.7 cases/100,000.

Their seven-day test rate is 3.4 percent positive, and average daily case rate for last 7 days is 9.6 per 100,000. Seven-day increase is 1.1 percent, 14-day increase is 2.7 percent.
