Pro soccer team Reno 1868 FC to play LTCC in exhibition game Tuesday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif.— Tuesday will be a historical night of soccer at Lake Tahoe Community College as the new professional soccer team, Reno 1868 FC, heads to the south shore to play an exhibition game against the college's men's soccer team. This will be the first professional soccer team to ever play in Tahoe.

On April 25, At 7:00 p.m. the teams will play under the lights at the LTCC home field. Admission is free and open to the public. Reno 1868 FC will sign autographs following the game.

The Reno 1868 FC team is a new Division II professional team that is affiliated with the professional Major League Soccer team, San Jose Earthquakes. Professional scouts will be in attendance to watch the Reno team play to do call-ups to the San Jose Earthquakes.

“We were excited to be approached with this opportunity,” said Men’s Coach Nick Arbalaez. “This is a great opportunity for them to see our campus, facilities, and the player talent we have at LTCC.”

This summer, Reno 1868 FC will return to campus on Tuesday, August 22 at 7:00 p.m. to kick off LTCC’s 2017 soccer season.
