SLT DMV Reschedules Remodeling; Closing For Two Days

The South Lake Tahoe office of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) was scheduled to close last month for renovations, but due to stormy weather they postponed the project. The DMV announced today that they will be closing the office for two days in May to replace the carpet.

They are alerting local customers that their office, located at 3344 Lake Tahoe Blvd #B, will be closing for renovations on Friday, May 9, 2014, at 12 p.m.

Other renovation work, including bringing the office to ADA compliance, will occur after normal business hours. The South Lake Tahoe office will reopen to the public on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at 8 a.m.

The DMV wants to remind customers that there are over 20 online services available on www.dmv.ca.gov. A few of those options are to renew your registration and driver license, complete your change of address, request your own driver record, and make an appointment.

Customers will be redirected to the offices listed below:

• Truckee - 11357 Donner Pass Road Suite # 1, 46 miles away
• Placerville - 2919 Cold Springs Road, 61 miles away

The DMV periodically closes field offices throughout the state each year to address maintenance issues, infrastructure deficiencies, upgrade mechanical and electrical systems and replace equipment and finishes.
