Public invited to take part in 18th annual Tahoe Truckee Snapshot Day

Event Date:
May 19, 2018 - 9:00am

Join over a hundred community members at the League to Save Lake Tahoe's largest one-day water quality monitoring event of the year on Saturday, May 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

This free event is family friendly and all ages are invited. No experience necessary. Refreshments will be provided but bring a reusable water bottle.

On this one day, volunteers capture the water quality of the Tahoe Truckee Watershed through this hands-on monitoring event. They will meet at Lake Tahoe Community College Aspen Room before teams head out to local streams and rivers throughout South Lake Tahoe. The leader-led teams will collect data to create a snapshot in time of water quality. The data collected can be used for restoration projects and overall watershed protection.

Wear layers, sunglasses, sun hat and sunscreen. Be prepared to possibly wade in the water.

For questions, please email protect@keeptahoeblue.org.

Youth volunteers are welcome but must have a parent or guardian sign a 2018 waiver.
