COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area - New cases in El Dorado and Douglas Counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County is reporting four new confirmed cases over the weekend, bringing the total to 78. The new cases are one from Greater Placerville, one from Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, and two from the Lake Tahoe Region.

They are three women, one male, three in the 18-49-year-old group, and one from the 50-64-year-old group.

Recoveries remained the same at 57, leaving 21 active cases. One person in the county with a confirmed case is in the ICU and there are currently four suspected cases in the ICU county-wide.

An additional 421 tests were completed.

There have been 27 cases in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting 13 new positive cases and three additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 174, with 125 recoveries and four deaths, 45 cases remain active.

The new cases are:

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

The Regional Information Center is reporting five additional COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County over the weekend.

A female in her 90s with underlying health conditions
A female in her 80s with underlying health conditions
A female in her 40s with underlying health conditions
A female in her 70s with underlying health conditions
A male in his 80s with underlying health conditions.

There are 54 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County. In addition, there are 61 new cases of COVID-19 with 28 recoveries.

There are 21 cases in Incline Village and 1 in Crystal Bay in Lake Tahoe.
