COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There were two new cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County Tuesday, both from the Lake Tahoe region. The one male and one female are both in the 18-49-year-old age group.

An additional 88 people were able to be tested since Monday, bringing the total of tests to 7,257.

There is one patient in the ICU. With no new recoveries, there are now 24 active cases.

There have been 52 cases in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting the seventh death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individual was a female Lyon County resident in her 70’s. It is unknown at this time if she had underlying conditions.

CCHHS is also reporting five new positive cases and eight additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 242, with 170 recoveries and seven deaths, 65 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A female Carson City resident under the age of 18 with connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 20’s with connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 70’s with connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 17 additional recoveries from COVID-19 in Washoe County. There have been an additional 16 COVID-19 cases in Washoe County since Monday.

There have been 23 cases of COVID-19 in Incline Village to date, with three active ones, and one case in Crystal Bay but that person has since recovered.

There have been 39 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Monday with two of those in the Lake Tahoe area.
