LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - California Senator Diane Feinstein and her husband, Richard Blum, chairman and president of Blum Capital, have placed their Lake Tahoe compound for sale.
The compound includes three homes, 278 feet of beach, a 172-foot pier, a boat lift, and two buoys. It was listed for sale briefly in 2020 for $46 million.
Feinstein is a long-time proponent of protecting Lake Tahoe. She has been part of the bi-state team that brings the annual Lake Tahoe Summit to the area to highlight successes and challenges in keeping Tahoe blue.
The original Lake Tahoe Restoration Act was passed in 2000 and authorized $300 million for the restoration of the lake and surrounding basin. The current authorization will expire in 2024 and a bi-partisan bill has been introduced to reauthorize the Act to prevent an interruption in conservation and restoration planning.
The Senator and Blum's compound includes three homes on a beautiful piece of property that encompass 10,343 square feet, seven bedrooms, and seven bathrooms on 4.75 acres at Rubicon Bay, north of South Lake Tahoe.
The listing is held by Trinkie Watson of Chase International of Tahoe City. The property includes a main residence, storage building, entertainment pavilion with guest accommodation, and carriage house containing two 2-bedroom apartments and a 2-car tandem garage.
According to the listing, the main house was built in 1997 and has 6-bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a big deck, lawn, hot tub, and a two-car garage with an EV charger. The Pavilion was built in 2015 and has a large entertainment area, kitchen, 5-star guest suite, and a patio with a fire pit. The Carriage House was built in the 1930s and has two apartments - 2-bedroom, 2-bath full, and 2-bedroom, 1 bath. It has a tandem garage with an EV charger.
