SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Looking for a family-friendly activity in South Lake Tahoe on Friday? The fireworks will be over so plan a visit to take a step back in time to visit with early pioneers.

In their inaugural Tahoe History Days, the Lake Tahoe Historical Society will start off the holiday by participating in the South Lake Tahoe 4th of July Parade. Catch them on their wagon!

Then, on Friday, join them at the museum as they hold Tahoe History Days 2019: The Pioneers from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Visit with John C. Fremont, Yank Clement and Charlie Parkhurst. There will be hands-on activities for the whole family, docent tours of the museum's new exhibits, the historic cabin and a special peek inside the oldest commercial building on the South Shore, the Osgood Toll House.

Watch Lake of the Sky I and II movies, enjoy refreshments and much more, including a booth hosted by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Find out what they are up to at the historic Pioneer Cemetary.

The History Museum is located at 3058 Lake Tahoe Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe near the Senior Center and campground.
