Law enforcement kept busy over the 4th of July holiday in South Lake Tahoe and Douglas County

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) and Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) were kept busy over the 4th of July holiday.

In South Lake Tahoe, SLTPD reported the following from 12:01 a.m. on July 4 to 6 a.m. on July 5:
Calls into dispatch (911 and non-emergency) – 361

Calls for service - 162
Arrests – 2
Boat incidents – 10
Firework calls – 6

Between July 2-4, SLTPD made four arrests, DUI (2) Gun and drug charges (1), Disorderly Conduct - Alcohol (1)

DCSO arrested a total of 30 persons between July 2 and July 4, 2022, which included both the Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valley areas. The arrests included the following:

• Possession of Paraphernalia: 3
• Shoplifting: 1
• Obstructing: 2
• Child Abuse/Neglect: 1
• DUI: 8
• Possess Drugs: 8
• Minor Consuming: 7
• Minor Using False ID: 1
• Trespassing: 2
• Resisting: 2
• Unlawful Use of Fireworks: 1
• Curfew: 1
