Douglas County Looking for Residents to Help Decide Next County Manager

The selection process for a Douglas County Manager is moving forward after Douglas County received over 71 applications. The best qualified candidates are currently being reviewed and are slated to be presented to the Board of County Commissioners on July 17, 2014. Following the selection of top candidates, and interview panel including advisory members from the public will be part of the extensive interview process.

The chosen candidates will be visiting Douglas County on August 4th-5th, 2014 for an extensive interview process. To ensure the candidates are thoroughly reviewed our Human Resources department has set forth a selective process to include advisory interview panels, a social reception, and a community tour.

Douglas County is looking for anyone interested in participating in an advisory interview panel to help provide outside input regarding the candidates. It is important to us to collect constructive feedback from members of the public, stakeholders, and our business owners from Douglas County.

“We are confident this selective process will help us determine the best candidate and fit for Douglas County,” said Norma Santoyo, Human Resources Manager. “Allowing feedback from others in the community who feel strongly about the position will also give us a different perspective and give the candidate a good representation of our community.”

If you are interested in being on an advisory interview panel please submit your name and contact information to Douglas County Human Resources at 775-782-9860 or at wlang@co.douglas.nv.us no later than July 16, 2014 at 5pm. We may not be able to accommodate all requests; therefore, submissions may be placed in a random drawing to determine participation.
