Bob Baunhauser Excellence in Service Award to recognize South Lake Tahoe unsung hero

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe is looking for unsung heroes in the South Lake Tahoe community. There have always been great volunteers on the South Shore, but over the past two years, the community has been the recipient of thousands of hours of selfless work by volunteers

Kiwanian Bob Baunhauser epitomized the type of person the club is now seeking to thank through public recognition. This is the first year for this event. It has been spearheaded by South Lake Tahoe Chamber board member and Kiwanian, Dick VanBuskirk.

A special evening to recognize the heroes of South Lake Tahoe is planned for September 22 at the Lake Tahoe Community College Duke Theater. The winner will receive a $1,500 prize.

Letters will go to local service clubs, churches, and any other organizations where there are individuals who give of their time and resources without expectation of recognition.
