SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - When local philanthropist Lisa Maloff found out the Lake Tahoe Boys & Girls Club was without truck after the South Shore facility lost it in a crash, she generously donated money for its replacement.
On Thursday, August 10, the kids and staff of the club thanked Lisa with a ribbon cutting ceremony and large "thank you" poster, along with ribbons in Lisa's favorite color, pink.
"The Club took the opportunity to buy two vehicles, a 2016 15-passenger van and a 2013 GMC Yukon," said Jude Wood, Executive Director of the Lake Tahoe Boys & Girls Club of the donation.
150 local youth have been attending the club this summer. The vehicles will be used for several things including transport to activities and events. Fifteen passengers can fit in the new van, and eight in the SUV.
