Electric boat catches fire at Homewood Marina

LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - An electric boat caught on fire Friday afternoon at the Homewood Marina at Lake Tahoe, sending smoke into the air. When the U.S. Coast Guard arrived they found the North Tahoe Fire Protection District on scene already, battling the fire on the boat.

Fortunately, no one was injured during this fire, and no property damage besides the boat was reported.

"This is an important reminder to know where your fire safety equipment is while onboard a vessel. Fires happen quickly on boats, so being prepared is your best chance of stopping a fire quickly," said the Coast Guard in a social media post.
