COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced an additional 22 cases of COVID-19 since Monday. Sixteen of those cases are in the Lake Tahoe region, three in El Dorado Hills, one each in in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, Greater Placerville and Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue. In the new group of positive cases, four are aged under 18, 13 aged 18-49, three aged 50-64 and two aged 65 and over.

There were an additional 213 tests administered with 191 negative test results received. With an assumed 16 recoveries there are currently 148 assumed active cases in the county.

The previous two in the ICU have been discharged from local hospitals. There are no suspected cases in the hospital.

There has been two deaths.

The new dashboard shows cases by episode date, not by the date El Dorado County Public Health was notified about the new case. Episode date is the earliest of the following dates: (symptom onset date, diagnosis date, specimen collection date, date received, or date of death) and serves as the best approximation of the date of infection.

The 7-day positivity rate for El Dorado County is 3.4 percent, and the 14-day rate of new cases is 105. The Lake Tahoe region is High (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 100 or greater) along with El Dorado Hills. Much of the balance of the county is Moderate (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 26-99).

County-wide there have been 871 cases with 411 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting eight new cases and twenty recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 894, with 752 recoveries and fifteen deaths, 127 cases remain active.
The new cases are:
• A male Lyon County resident in his 80’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 20’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 30’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

There is one drive-thru COVID-19 testing event for Quad-County residents this week. Testing is free of charge; first come, first served, no appointments or reservations.

The Regional Information Center is reporting 105 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths in Washoe County since yesterday.

72 (+1) of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 9 (+1) active ones, and 1 active and two recovered cases in Crystal Bay.

Placer County

There have been 18 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Monday.
Lake Tahoe area cases - 18 (+2) are in Tahoe City, 69 (+1) in Kings Beach, 8 (+0) in Olympic Village, 16 (+0) in Truckee, 6 (+0) in Carnelian Bay.

Their seven-day test rate is 10 percent positive, and 14-day case rate is 102.4 per 100,000. Seven-day increase is 8.4 percent, 14-day increase is 33 percent.
