Classes to help children speak French like a native

Leading French language coach is hosting a special event in September especially for parents and home-schooled children.

Entitled “Discovery Day Event For Parents”, the purpose of the event is to introduce parents of home-schooled children to an 8 week program “French Made Easy For Home schoolers”. In this way, the event host intends that parents gain some experience and have their questions answered before committing to an extensive program. The event will take place at Nurturing Nest (facing Longley Lane), 5301 Longley Lane, A8 Reno, NV 89511 on Saturday, September 6th 2014 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The host of the event is Parisian French coach Marina Ridge. She created French Made Easy for Home schoolers program. Fluent in 4 languages, she is a Francophone, or citizen of a French colonized country. In addition, she is a mother and so understands first-hand the challenges of homeschooling children. She also has a background in culinaria and art, plus a French college degree in Hotel management. Marina has worked in restaurants - in particular the kitchen of a famous Brasserie

(http://www.procope.com/lhistorique/), a Restaurant in the Champ Elysee (http://www.champs-elysees-paris.org/?p=2346) and a hotel at http://www.hotelsnhotels.com/bonfortel_eaubonne_eaubonne.htm.
Marina discovered the lack of phonics taught to foreigners in their country of origin or for anybody learning French as a foreign language. As such, she created “French Made Easy for Homeschoolers” as a program designed to provide their children with language skills so they could learn: pronunciation now, rather than later, the confidence needed to learn a new language, the capacity to become global citizens, and to develop a love for languages. Influenced by her knowledge of the French culture, people, regions, food, wine, and the many attractions of France, her program is considered to relate easily to the majority of learners.

When asked about the methods of French Made Easy for Homeschoolers, Marina says that the methods were passed down through several generations: “I see the program’s true power eachtime a French native asks her, “Vous êtes Française?” (Are you a French Citizen?). While there are many self-study programs available on the market, most people rarely take the action steps. In French Made Easy for Homeschoolers, I aim to ensure the accountability that people depend on for their success.”

As to why Marina created this event, she says: “I would like to meet with parents in my area who may be interested in maximizing their child’s potential by learning French. Their child’s potential can be expanded in the following ways: gaining a good command of the French language and, incidentally, mastery of the English language too. This enables the child to grasp a wider range of subjects - indeed, international subjects. French is a world language - therefore possessing the ability to communicate in French opens the door to future possibilities, including becoming a global citizen.”

French is designated a Romance language which belongs to the Indo-European family. It descended from the vulgar (spoken) Latin language of the Roman Empire and took in influences from ancient Celtic and Germanic Frankish languages. Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian, Catalan are close relatives and also belong to the Romance language family. The community of French-speaking countries known as la francophonie in French, includes 77 states. It is the first spoken language in France, Haiti, Monaco and in parts of Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, parts of Louisiana and New England, USA, and by other communities globally. French ranks in fourth place as the most widely spoken native languages of the European Union, according to the European Commission’s survey, and is also the third-most widely understood language in the EU.
