Over 300 citations issued during Nevada's Pedestrian Safety event

In an effort to highlight the importance of pedestrian safety on Northern Nevada roads, the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) joined forces with both the Reno and Sparks Police departments and Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.

This event was scheduled in conjunction with the opening of the new academic year and focused on school zones and heavily used pedestrian roadways and crossings in the local area. It focused on both vehicle's and pedestrian's legal use of the crosswalks and was utilized as a reminder to focus on not only motorist, but all people using the roads as more people will be taking to the streets with the school year underway.
