Names of those killed in yesterday's IHOP shooting are:

Major Heath Kelly, 35, Reno, decorated field artillery officer, husband and father, commander of Joint Force Headquarters in Carson City, served in Iraq 2004-2005. Avid student of military history, known for his dry sense of humor. See story
Sgt. 1st Class Christian Riege, 38, Carson City, father of three, served in Afghanistan 2009-2010, also served in U.S Navy for two years before joining the Guard

Sgt. 1st Class Miranda McElhiney, 31, Reno, owner of a small baking company, well known in the company for providing cupcakes for guard functions. See story
Florence Donovan-Gunderson, 67, South Lake Tahoe. See story

According to Sheriff Kenny Furlong, the names of those wounded are not going to be released at this time.

One of those wounded is Wally Gunderson, husband of Florence Donovan-Gunderson, who died in the attack.

The shooting hit the Nevada National Guard especially hard.

"In a few short hours, we lost the same number of soldiers we lost in the entirety of operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom," said Gen. Bill Burks.

Deceased Victims Named in Carson City Shooting Tragedy Yesterday

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong announced today during a 9:00 a.m. press conference the four victims killed in yesterday’s tragic shooting at the IHOP restaurant located in south Carson City, Nevada.

In order to adhere to family requests and compliance with the hospitals’ regulation of HIPAA requirements, the names of the injured victims were not released during today’s press conference.

Instead the briefing will focus on the victims who lost their lives.

I would like to emphasize that this is an isolated incident, and the suspect has died from a self inflicted wound. The community is safe, and we will continue to release information as it becomes available.

Event Summary - A lone gunman entered the IHOP restaurant just before 9 a.m. yesterday and began shooting. His shooting spree continued into the restaurant’s parking lot, culminating in him turning the gun on himself. A total of eleven victims were shot; 5 were from the Nevada National Guard and 6 were civilians. At this time, fou victims are confirmed dead (three of them Nevada National Guardsmen); the shooter has also died.

The shooter has been identified as Eduardo Sencion, a.k.a Eduardo Perez-Gonzalez, age 32. Sencion was born on July 22, 1979 in Mexico and is a U.S. citizen. He has no prior criminal history. His family has indicated that he has a history of mental illness.
