LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - Multiple agencies spent Sunday night and most of Monday searching for a person who reportedly jumped off a boat near Nevada Beach.

Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) received a call on Sunday afternoon, alerting them to two boaters who fell or jumped into the water. Since South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue (SLTFR) still had their boat in the water, they were called in by DCSO along with Tahoe Douglas Fire and their boat. The South Lake Tahoe Police Department boat also aided in the search, and at 5:37 p.m., the U.S. Coast Guard joined in.

One of the boaters was retrieved safely but the second person has been the subject of a search since Sunday.

Just before 6:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, the Coast Guard called off the search and said they could not find the person reported missing.

SLTFR Chief Jeff Meston said the searchers were in water that was 1,100 feet deep.

This is a developing story.
