2013 Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation Food Fest

Event Date:
October 26, 2013 - 6:30pm

The Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation will have its annual signature fundraiser, The Fall Food Fest, on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Harvey’s Convention Center. This fun community event will feature great food by local restaurants, beer, wine, tequila, and vodka tasting, silent and live auctions with wonderful donations by local businesses, and live music. The money from this fundraiser is used to fund over $50,000 in grants that are given to LTUSD schools during the school year. All schools have benefited from these grants. Tickets will be on sale at LTUSD schools and the District office beginning September 23. Tickets cost $40 in advance and $45 at the door.

Over the past years the LTEF has funded numerous grants that have supported outstanding programs in all LTUSD schools. Last year the grants funded Anti-Bullying Programs, Enrichment Clubs, Mad Science Program, Music Visiting Professors, Outdoor Winter Education, Sphere of Influence, and Teen Truth Anti-Bullying Programs for a total of over $50,000.

Founded in 1989, the Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation has dedicated itself to excellence in education by helping to support the educational programs and needs of the Lake Tahoe Unified School District in South Lake Tahoe, California. The Foundation is a public, non-profit organization run by a 27 member volunteer board with no overhead administrative costs. The school district has a population of over 4,000 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. The Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation (LTEF) provides funds to all schools to support enrichment programs. This is done through a fall and spring grant request process. LTEF provides $40,000 to $60,000 each year in enrichment grants.
