Work to begin on the Robert Maloff Center of Excellence

The Robert Maloff Center of Excellence plans have been approved, and construction preparation for the parking garage will begin this month.

The Center of Excellence will expand orthopedic, sports performance, and wellness services on the Barton Health campus. Individuals will work with a health navigator and a team of medical providers to develop and implement a customized care plan that integrates health, fitness, nutrition, and medical expertise.

“The Center of Excellence’s proactive approach steers away from the “sick and treat” patient model to a collaborative, patient-centered experience,” says John Williams, Barton Health’s President and CEO. “The goal is to treat the whole patient and offer in-depth services from a care team supporting wellness and enhancing the lives of our active and diverse population.”

The parking garage will be built during the first phase of the project that includes a 25,00 square foot facility. During construction, 90 temporary parking spaces will be available on what will be the facility. The garage will create 324 spaces, approximately 235 additional spaces, to accommodate hospital patients and Center of Excellence users. It is expected to be complete in May 2016.

This project was made possible due to a generous $10 million donation from longtime resident Lisa Maloff, who made the donation in honor of her late husband, Robert Maloff.

“Lisa Maloff’s generous donation will allow Barton Health to continue its efforts to improve the health of our entire community,” said Williams. “We are excited the project has been approved and will be underway.”

Barton Health will host a breaking ground ceremony for the Center of Excellence when construction begins in May or June of 2016. Find updates on this project and other Barton Health construction projects at bartonhealth.org.
