Northern California fire update

The Butte Fire near Jackson, CA continues to burn but is now 74% contained. So far, 70,760 acres have burned. The destructive and deadly fire destroyed 545 homes and 356 outbuildings, as well as damaging another 42 structures. Two civilians have died in the fire.

They have staged six repopulating phases. There are currently no mandatory evacuations but evacuation advisories remain for all areas and roads inside the fire perimeter, north of Calaveritas Rd, Dogtown Rd, San Domingo Rd and Fullen Rd.

3,446 firefighters remain on the scene. They expect to have full containment by October 1.

The Valley Fire is now the fourth worst fire in California history. It has destroyed 1,050 structures while consuming 75,781 acres. It is now 75% contained.

Four firefighters have been injured in the Valley Fire.

Evacuation orders have fallen for many of the residents in the area which covers Lake, Napa and Sonoma counties. Mandatory evacuation order remains for Lake County
Butts Canyon Road to Napa County line, Cobb, Seigler Canyon, Loch Lomond.

Damage assessment teams are still on site, collecting information. The cause of both fires remains under investigation.

Two fires in the Monterey area started over the weekend but firefighters were able to limit their spread. The Laureles Fire burned 95 acres and is 100% contained. The Tassajara Fire is now 50% contained and it has burned 1,086 acres.
