Mixed Forecast for the Lake Tahoe Basin

According to accuweather.com, highs in the Lake Tahoe basin will reach 49 today, with a forecasted low of 22 degrees. Halloween will be sunny and 56, but with lows at 22 make sure you bundle up for trick or treating!

The fog on Lake Tahoe this morning was caused by evaporation. When the sun rises, it causes a dramatic rise in the air temperature. The warm temperature stimulates the water molecules on the surface of the lake to start moving around more, and some start to change into water vapor. Since there is more water in the air near the lake than in the air near by, you can see the difference in the moisture content, and see the fog above the lake.
