COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials say another 88 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Friday. Of those, 18 are in El Dorado Hills, 14 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, four in North County, one in South County, 10 in Greater Placerville, one in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, three in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 25 in Lake Tahoe region. There are 12 awaiting address confirmation.

One of those new cases, 12 are under the age of 18, 49 are aged 18-49, 15 are aged 50-64, and 12 aged 65 or older.

Another 1297 people were tested for the coronavirus and 1209 negative tests results were received.

There have been another 43 assumed recoveries with 518 assumed active cases.

There are currently ten COVID-19 patients hospitalized with five of them in the ICU and no suspected cases hospitalized.

To date there have been four deaths.

The county moved into the purple tier November 17.

The County dashboard shows cases by episode date, not by the date El Dorado County Public Health was notified about the new case. Episode date is the earliest of the following dates: (symptom onset date, diagnosis date, specimen collection date, date received, or date of death) and serves as the best approximation of the date of infection.

The 7-day positivity rate for El Dorado County is 7.0 percent positivity and the 14-day rate of new cases is 260 (+42) (these figures do not include today's data).

The Lake Tahoe region of the county is in the High Tier (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 100) and is joined there by El Dorado/Diamond Springs, Shingle Springs/Cameron Park/Rescue, El Dorado Hills, Placerville and now Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz and North County, South County is in the Moderate Tier (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 26-99). No region is in the low tier (25 or less per 100,000 for last 14 days).

We are reporting three additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. They were two Carson City residents and a Douglas County resident. CCHHS is also reporting 124 new cases and 100 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region since Friday. This brings the total number of cases to 2,993, with 2,219 recoveries and 33 deaths; 741 cases remain active

In Carson City there are currently 40 (-5) people hospitalized with 8 (+0) of them in the ICU. There are 5 suspected cases of COVID-19 in the hospital.

In Douglas County there are currently 9 (+0) people hospitalized with COVID-19 with 5 (+4) of them in the ICU along with no suspected cases in the ICU.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 2049 new COVID-19 cases and 14 new deaths in Washoe County since Friday.

There have been 384 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Friday.

Lake Tahoe area cases - 63 (+5) are in Tahoe City, 166 (+5) in Kings Beach, 21 (+2) in Olympic Valley, 38 (+0) in Truckee, 18 (+0) in Carnelian Bay.

Their seven-day test rate is 6.8 percent positive, and average daily case rate for last 7 days is 18.6 per 100,000. Seven-day increase is 8.0 percent, 14-day increase is 20.8 percent.
