Community Insight on Recreation and Tourism Sought in Upcoming South Lake Tahoe Workshops

A visioning round table in South Lake Tahoe will discuss the role that outdoor recreation plays in enhancing tourism and community livability in South Lake Tahoe. All residents are invited to either workshop to share their insights about parks, recreation, trails, events and programs so that recreation opportunities can improve on the South Shore.

The December 11th workshop will be held at South Tahoe High School Student Union at 1735 Lake Tahoe Boulevard from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. December 12th's workshop will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Kahle Community Center located at 236 Kingsbury Grade. Both workshops are being hosted jointly by El Dorado County, Douglas County, and the City of South Lake Tahoe.

Feedback from these workshops will be used to develop recommendations for two recreation plans for the South Shore which include the Parks, Trails and Recreation Master Plan for South Lake Tahoe and El Dorado County and the Tahoe Basin Recreation and Tourism Plan for Douglas County.

A large group discussion about the community’s future vision for parks, recreation and trails, plus the role recreation should play in supporting tourism and economic vitality.

This is the community’s chance to help shape the future of recreation and tourism for the South Shore. Anyone ages 15 and over is invited to participate and share their ideas. Residents are encouraged to invite their colleagues, friends, and co-workers to join us this important conversation about the future.
