Kudos: South Tahoe High Booster Club thanks community for bench, table and quad project

During the season of giving and being thankful, we thought an update of all of our amazing donations in dollars and hours was important to write about!

So, here goes…we are halfway there! South Tahoe Vikings Booster Association has taken on the rejuvenation of the South Tahoe High School Quad this year, and with the help of 70 volunteers on October 30, the first half of the quad project is complete. These 70 volunteers included 35 students, numerous firefighters who came with their massive chainsaws, parents, past students, future students, and community members who put in up to nine hours of service all in one day!

With over 1,000 linear feet of log borders in place (thank you Ed Cook Tree Service for the donation of ALL the logs), 30 boulders spaced throughout as well (thank you Goodrich Construction for donating ALL the boulders), and 50 yards of mulch (thank you Tahoe Sand & Gravel for the major discount) spread over 2,000 square feet, we are on our way to a beautiful, outdoor hang-out for our high school students.

This coming Spring, we will complete the project by assembling the 28 outdoor tables and nine benches that will be dispersed throughout the quad for students to build community.

Over the last 60 days, we have asked for the community’s help in funding all these tables and benches, and as of today, we are sold out of sponsorships! The amazing support from local businesses and families has allowed us to purchase all the tables and benches that are planned for installation this Spring!
