NHP seeks public's help in finding Stateline road rage hit and run suspect

A man was hit by a vehicle around 4:00 a.m. on November 13 in front of Harvey's Casino, and the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) is asking for help from the public in identifying the driver.

NHP Troppers responded, and their initial reports indicate there was a verbal altercation between the driver of a white Ford minivan and a pedestrian on Highway 50 in front of the casino. Objects were reported to have been thrown at the pedestrian from inside the van. The pedestrian began to run after the white minivan in the travel lanes of US50.

During this exchange, the pedestrian was struck by the left side of the van as they were both in the middle of the road. The unidentified pedestrian was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries but the driver of the van fled the scene. The victim's current condition is unknown.

The driver is described as a Middle Eastern adult male, possibly in his mid-to-late 20’s with short black hair. The passenger in the van was described a white adult female in her early 20’s with long blonde hair. After the van left the scene, it fled into California and was last seen making a turn onto Pioneer Trail in South Lake Tahoe.

The van was described as a white Ford minivan (or similar type) with both front and back bumpers being black in color.

Trooper Sal Navarro of the Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating this crash. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information related to this incident is encouraged to reach out to him at (775) 684-4469 or snavarro@dps.state.nv.us regarding case number NHP-161101238.
