Sierra-at-Tahoe opens for the season Saturday, Northstar opened today

Sierra-at-Tahoe is the latest Lake Tahoe area ski resort to open for the 2017/18 winter season. The slopes open on December 2, 2017 with limited terrain.

Grandview Express and Easy Rider Express will give skiers and riders access to 11 trails and two terrain parks. Early season conditions are present throughout the mountain and guests are asked to obey all signs and closures.

“While we’re waiting for winter to kick into high gear, we’re proud of what we have to offer on the upper mountain and are excited to get people up here and give them the opportunity to make a few turns” said General Manager, John Rice.

Some lessons will be offered but no snowplay or sledding is available at this time.
Day tickets can be purchased for $71.

Up at the North Shore, Northstar opened Friday with access to terrain on East and West Ridge. They will operate six lifts, 21 trails, nine park features and 129 acres.

They join the other Lake Tahoe open ski resorts. Heavenly, Kirkwood, Squaw Valley / Alpine Meadows and Mt. Rose.
