Gardnerville Shooting Today Leaves One Man Dead

12/3/13 9 am update: A 29 year old woman from Gardnerville, NV, Nicole Christine Followill, has been arrested and booked on the charge of open murder with the death of a fellow Gardnerville resident Monday morning. The victim has been identified as 33 year old Jason Richard Thrift of Gardnerville. According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Department, the two apparently were involved in a dispute, Followill produced a handgun and shot Thrift. Followill will be arraigned in East Fork Justice Court on Wednesday, December 4.
One man is dead and a a woman is being questioned in a shooting at a Gardnerville home in the 1300 block of Toler Lane according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Department. Officers were on the scene this morning after neighbors heard a shot fired. A man's body was found in the entryway of the home. No names have been released and details are still being investigated.
This is the second shooting in 11 days in the Carson Valley. Catherine Mary Costanza was shot and killed and the man she was a caretaker for, Melvin Norlund, is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
