Tahoe Warm Room in new building, ready to serve homeless starting December 15

The cold temperatures of winter have settled in, and with them comes the announcement that the Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless (TCH) is opening their Tahoe Warm Room on December 15 at 7:00 p.m.

TCH has secured a new space at 2179 Lake Tahoe Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe for the winter. There were needed renovations on the building, which has been sitting vacant for many years, pushing the opening date to mid-December.

The Warm Room provides emergency winter shelter to those experiencing homelessness and provides simple hot food & beverages, warm beds, and access to social workers and resource referrals.

During their pilot season last winter, the Warm Room served 107 guests and 4 families, providing 1620 nights of shelter to individuals in need.

TCH is actively seeking donations of supplies and funds for their operations.

They appreciate the support that the Tahoe community provided them in their first year of operations. Please visit TahoeHomeless.org to donate, or mail checks payable to TCH at PO Box 13514, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96151.

You can email jkossman@tahoehomeless.org to arrange a supply drive. Other inquiries can be directed to Marissa Muscat, Executive Director, at tahoewarmroom@gmail.com.
