It was a tragedy no parent, brother, relative or friend should have to go through. Just after 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018, 18-year-old Zachary Harris died at the scene of a vehicle crash on Highway 1 between Cuesta College and San Luis Obispo. His car struck a large tree off the highway.
Zachary, a 2018 graduate of South Tahoe High is the son of Marjorie and Duane Harris and brother of Tyler and Brandon. He was a freshman at Cuesta College.
As one can imagine this has been devastating to the long-time local family.
Marjorie's sister has set up a GoFundMe account on Sunday to help with the financial burden of burial and funeral expenses. In the first 14 hours of the page going live, almost half of the $5,000 goal had been met.
"Zach was a very sweet young man, with a heart as big as can be," says Marjorie on the GoFundMe account. "Anyone that met him would be immediately swept up by his sense of humor, charisma and charm. He really had a great love for his family, especially idolizing his two older brothers. He was always up for a good game of 'attack nerf guns' or 'water fight'."
The GoFundMe account can be found HERE.
