Snow, rain and sunshine in the South Lake Tahoe forecast

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A quiet day today will be followed by a system coming to the area Sunday through early Monday. This system will have a more southerly track and bring a round of light snow to the Sierra and a few showers into western Nevada. Generally quiet and dry weather is expected to persist for some time after Monday according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

Snow amounts in the Sierra will range between 6-12 inches along the crest with 2 to 4 inches down at lake level and along area passes of northeast CA and northwest NV. Temps are warmer so this will be a wet and heavy snow at the passes, slushier at lake level.

This storm front moves out quickly and higher than normal, dry conditions move in.
