Some roads around Lake Tahoe closed due to heavy snow and more on the way

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - It was a white Christmas for everyone in the Sierra and even down to low elevations, and the storm is not giving up as another 15" to 25" of snow is still forecasted before it's over. Major travel arteries are closed and the California Highway Patrol reports cars still stuck in snow from Saturday evening when US50 closed.
The Winter Storm Warning is in place for the Lake Tahoe Basin until 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28.
Heavenly Mountain Resort is reporting 20" of snow in the last 24 hours, Mt. Rose reports over 20" in the last day with 66-73" of snow from the current storm, Ski Homewood is reporting 28" in last 24 hours, and Kirkwood says 23" fell in the last 24 hours but will be closed today. If skiing, check before you go as many roads are closed.

Echo Summit is closed as are US 89 at Luther Pass, SR88, US305 in Mono County and I80.
