Power outages due to storm in South Lake Tahoe

4:30 PM UPDATE: The power outage at Lake Tahoe has grown to almost 20,000 Liberty Utilities customers. At 4:12 p.m., a large outage occurred affecting much of the South Shore. There is no estimated time of restoral of power.

NV Energy is also reporting multiple outages, over 26,000 customers are affected in Northern Nevada.

Most of the California Liberty outage is due to the power it receives from Nevada's NV Energy. Still no cause being released.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - With the wind and heavy snow associated with the current storm, power outages can be expected around Lake Tahoe.

Liberty Utilities is reporting a few neighborhood outages on both the north and south shores.

608 customers without power in neighborhoods near Ski Run Blvd.
282 customers without power near Bijou Pines
2 customers without power in Al Tahoe area
1500 customers without power south of Tahoe City

There is no estimated time of restoral but crews are working to get it back up.
