Submitted by paula on Mon, 09/28/2020 - 7:25pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials say another 31 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Friday. Of those, eight are in El Dorado Hills, ten in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, three in North County, two in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, three in Greater Placerville and five in the Lake Tahoe Region.
This is the largest number of cases for a three-day period since the pandemic started.
Of these new cases, six are under the age of 18, 20 are in the 18-49 age group, four are aged 50-64 and one aged 65 or older.

consecutive day.
Of these new cases, three are under the age of 18 and eight are in the 18-49 age group.
Another 220 people were tested for the coronavirus and 209 negative tests results were received.

The health officer has not given a reason for the discrepancy of numbers of reported cases not matching the regional totals.

Officials say another 14 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Friday. Of those, seven are in South Lake Tahoe, five in El Dorado Hills, one in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, and one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz.
Another 467 people were tested for the coronavirus and 453 negative tests results were received.

Heavy smoke from the Creek Fire over South Lake Tahoe Saturday
Submitted by paula on Sat, 09/05/2020 - 4:14pmSUNDAY UPDATE 11:00 a.m.: Eight hundred personnel are currently fighting the Creek Fire which has grown to 45,500 acres.
The Creek Fire a fast-moving fire burning on both Districts of the Forest. The fire which started near the communities of Big Creek and Huntington Lake, moved very quickly prompting several evacuations. Early Saturday afternoon the fire crossed the San Joaquin River and made a run into the Mammoth Pool area. Prompting some members of the public to shelter in place near Wagner’s Store and Campground.

None of those are in the Lake Tahoe area, six were in El Dorado Hills, and one each in Greater Placerville and South County.
Of the new cases, five are aged 18-49, and two aged 50-64.
An additional 180 tests were administered and 172 tests came back negative.
There have been six assumed recoveries with no confirmed patients in the hospital. There is one suspected case in the ICU.
To date, two county residents have died.

Two were in El Dorado Hills, two in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, and one in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue. Of those cases, two are aged 18-49, one aged 50-64 and four aged 65 or older.
An additional 117 people were tested. Another 110 negative tests results were returned and there were 12 assumed recoveries since yesterday.

They didn't despair though, and spent the down time roasting beans, expanding their menu and putting everything they sell online for all to enjoy. Opening a new business is always tough, exciting and stressful, but COVID-19 added a whole lot of unknowns to the picture.

Three were in El Dorado Hills, two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue and one in Greater Placerville. Of those cases, four are aged 18-49, one aged 50-64 and one aged 65 or older.
An additional 190 people were tested. Another 184 negative tests results were returned and there were 10 assumed recoveries over the weekend.
There are no current hospitalizations and there are no suspected cases in the hospital.
El Dorado County moves to next reopening tier Sept 21 if COVID-19 cases remain low
Submitted by paula on Tue, 09/01/2020 - 7:29amSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County will be able to move to the next colored tier on September 21 if COVID-19 cases remain under four cases per day average and test positivity stays below five percent for two consecutive seven-day periods.
The County started off the new color-tiered reopening plan in the Red/Substantial tier due to data from the weeks of August 5-11 and August 12-18.

New reopening guidelines released for El Dorado County and California

California Governor Gavin Newsom today announced a new set of guidelines for counties in the state, all based on a tiered set of metrics.

Two are in the Lake Tahoe area, three in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue and two in El Dorado Hills. Of these, one is under the age of 18, two are aged 18-49, two aged 50-64 and two aged 65 or older.
Another 305 tests were administered. 298 negative test results were returned.
There are an assumed 11 more recoveries, bringing that total to 819.
Body of Gilroy man located in Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Thu, 08/27/2020 - 8:57am4:30 p.m. UPDTE: The body of the missing Gilroy man was located this afternoon in 117 feet of water off the shore of Lake Tahoe.
The El Dorado County Sheriff's dive team with their remote operating vehicle (ROV) found 25-year-old Ian Morlang. He was brought up to the surface and placed on the South Lake Tahoe Police Marine 1 boat, then taken to the Tahoe Keys Marina.
Police officers draped a flag on Morlang as he was carried into a waiting vehicle.
Next of kin has been notified.
The coroner transported the body to the morgue in Placerville.

Another 20 tests were administered. 17 negative test results were returned.
There are an assumed nine more recoveries, bringing that total to 808.
No change to the hospitalization numbers with one hospitalized in the ICU. There is one suspected case in the hospital. There have been two deaths to date of county residents.

Another 197 tests were given, 189 negative test results were returned and there are 15 new assumed recoveries.
There is no change in hospitalization and one remains in the ICU and there are no suspected cases in the hospital.

Of these, one is aged under 18, two are aged 18-49, two aged 50-64 and one aged 65 or older.
An additional 112 people have been tested, 106 negative test results were received and there have been 11 assumed recoveries. That leaves an assumed 143 active cases in El Dorado County.

Furthermore, El Dorado County should be on the watch list, but it is not. As a result, people think it is safe in Tahoe and thousands of visitors are continuously bringing the virus into the area, overwhelming our health system, and exposing residents.

South Lake Tahoe did not lead the group which is the norm and had five positive cases. El Dorado Hills had 14, Greater Placerville with 3, Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue had two, and one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz. Of the new cases, four are under the age of 18, 15 aged 18-49, three aged 50-64 and three aged 65 and older.

Of those, five are in the Lake Tahoe region, two in El Dorado Hills, and one each in Greater Placerville and the North County. The new cases are eight people aged 18-49, and one aged 50-64.
Another 382 tests were administered and 373 negative test results were received.
Currently there are 155 assumed active cases and 11 assumed recoveries.

Of the new cases, four are from the Lake Tahoe region, two from El Dorado Hills, one from Greater Placerville and one from South County. In those counts, four are aged 18-49, three aged 50-64 and one aged 65 or older.
An additional 350 people have been tested for coronavirus. There were 342 negative test results received today and 24 assumed recoveries. The current assume positive case load is 157 in the county.

Of the new cases, ten are in the Lake Tahoe region, nine in El Dorado Hills, four in Greater Placerville, four in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, two in the North County and one in Diamond Springs, El Dorado. There was one aged under 18, 16 in the age group 18-49, eight aged 50-64 and 5 aged 65 or older.
Another 559 tests were administered. The county was notified of 529 negative results and 17 assumed recoveries. There are 173 assumed active cases.
Free weekly COVID testing in Kirkwood and Woodfords

Starting this week, testing will take place every week on Thursdays instead of the previous every other week schedule. These tests are for those with or without symptoms.
Tests are in the parking lot of Alpine County Health and Human Services in Woodfords, across the street from the Fire Station.

160 more tests were administered. There were 147 negative tests returned, 36 assumed recoveries and currently 169 assumed active cases of COVID-19.

Submitted by paula on Thu, 08/06/2020 - 5:47pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials said another 14 people have tested positive for COVID-19 since yesterday. Of the new cases, 11 are from the Lake Tahoe region and three are from the Greater Placerville region, ten are aged 18-49, three are aged 50-64 and one is aged 65 or older.
92 tests were administered since yesterday, 78 tests came back negative and there were 13 assumed recoveries. At this time there are 178 assumed active cases.

Not all of the negative results are listed so the county positivity rate is showing above the state's eight percent threshold, which is inaccurate.
Additionally, instructions about what residents should do after they've been tested are being emailed to those who tested at the Lake Tahoe Community College site due to delays.
Oregon man dies in motorcycle crash on Kingsbury Grade
Submitted by paula on Wed, 08/05/2020 - 1:08pmDOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - A Springfield, Oregon man died on Saturday after a crash on Kingsbury Grade/SR207.
At approximately 12:47 p.m. August 1, troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) responded to a serious injury crash at Douglas County Mile Marker 10.
The NHP preliminary investigation shows that 62-year-old Kurt Kelso was traveling north on Kingsbury Grade on his 2003 Harley Davidson. As Kelso was negotiating a left curve his motorcycle left the roadway and struck a dirt mound. He was ejected and transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

One of the cases was under the age of 18, five aged 18-49, one aged 50-64 and two aged 65 and older.
County officials say the statewide reporting system is experiencing processing delays and figures may be undestated.
