EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. – On January 1, 2025, at approximately 3:50 a.m., deputies from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office (EDSO), along with personnel from Cal Fire and Pioneer Fire, responded to a structure fire in the 7000 block of Mt. Aukum Road in Somerset.
According to EDSO, deputies had learned multiple people were in the residence. Once fire personnel were able to extinguish the fire, two individuals were found deceased inside the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the identities of the deceased will be released by EDSO once identification is confirmed and next of kin notification has been made.
No further information will be released at this time.
Mt. Aukum Road is located 45 miles west of South Lake Tahoe.
