SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The El Dorado Center in South Lake Tahoe will be closed today due to a “lack of heat.” The temperature on Friday morning was 8 degrees.

The building has had issues lately, including a plumbing issue last winter. It was on a list to be vacated and remodeled, but that project was put on hold about the time El Dorado County purchased the old Barton education center on Emerald Bay Road.

The El Dorado Center is located at 3368 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.

The temporary closure impacts the following offices:

–Health and Human Services

— Child Support

–Assessor

–Recorder Clerk

–Supervisor Brooke Laine’s office
