ALPINE COUNTY, Calif. – The Alpine County Board of Supervisors proudly recognizes and celebrates Nani Ellis’s extraordinary contributions. She has dedicated 30 years of unwavering service to Alpine County. A resolution honoring her milestone was recently passed, highlighting her invaluable role in the community and the legacy of dedication she leaves in her wake.
A lifelong resident of Alpine County, Nani Ellis’s deep roots and strong commitment to her community have made her an integral part of the County’s workforce and civic life. Born and raised in Alpine County, Nani attended Diamond Valley School and Douglas High. As a fourth-generation Alpine County resident, she and her husband, Todd, have instilled the same values of community service and pride in their two children, Lauren and Lila.
Nani began her full-time career with Alpine County in 1995, starting in the Finance Office, where she dedicated 20 years of service. She later continued to serve in the Behavioral Health Department for 7 years before transitioning to her current role at the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office in 2021. Throughout her career, Nani has demonstrated remarkable organizational skills, professionalism, and an unmatched dedication to excellence across all positions she has held.
Beyond her professional contributions, Nani has been an active volunteer, generously giving her time to numerous community organizations. Her involvement includes the Volunteer Fire Department, Alpine County Early Learning Center (ELC) Parents Group, Alpine County First 5, the Alpine County School Board, and the Alpine County AB109 Board. Her volunteerism reflects her deep love for the community and unwavering commitment to making Alpine County a better place for all.
Nani’s positive spirit, warm smile, and witty sense of humor have left a lasting impression on her colleagues and community members alike. Her ability to foster a welcoming and inclusive workplace has not only enhanced productivity but also created a culture of camaraderie and mutual respect within Alpine County departments.
A highlight of the resolution noted Nani’s fun-loving spirit and her victory over Natalie in the Appetizer Contest at the Alpine County holiday potluck – a lighthearted yet fitting acknowledgment of her competitiveness and ability to shine in all areas.
