STATELINE, Nev. – On Sunday, January 12, 2025, an unidentified male suspect stole a 2005 Chrysler 300 from Harrah’s Lake Tahoe at approximately 5:40 p.m. The vehicle belongs to a local taxi driver who was warming it up before heading home after his shift. He was waiting nearby and found the suspect in his car. A struggle ensued between this suspect and the victim, with the suspect overpowering him and driving away with the Chrysler.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office received a “be on the lookout” call and were able to pursue the stolen call for a while, but had to pull back due to safety reasons.
At 8 p.m., the stolen car was located in Rancho Cordova near Nimbus and Delaware streets after a citizen reported seeing the driver doing “donuts” on the road before the car being abandoned.
Prior to getting in the Chrysler, the suspect was seen pushing a black carry-on suitcase which he took with him. DSO pursued it after getting a BOLO, pulled back
