On Friday, February 7, the Kicking Horse Golden BC Pro unfolded on the legendary Ozone Face at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, showcasing some of the most exhilarating freeride performances of the season. With fresh snowfall blanketing the venue, athletes faced steep chutes, technical cliffs, and massive features that tested their skill, creativity, and nerves. Freeriders pushed boundaries throughout the day, blending bold freestyle tricks with big-mountain technical lines. Each competitor demonstrated a fierce drive to secure critical points before The Cut.

South Lake Tahoe’s Molly Armanino delivered a standout performance in Ski Women, scoring 84.67 points to secure the victory. On the season, Molly is in third place in the overall Ski Women’s rankings. Her bold approach included a massive early drop, fluidity through technical terrain, and a perfectly timed double drop that showcased her precision and confidence.

Americans have been experiencing a breakout session during the 2025 Freeride World Tour, with podium finishes at each of the first three stops. In Baqueira Beret, Spain, Ross Tester earned a well-deserved first-place finish in the Ski Men’s category, while Michael Mawn secured third in Snowboard Men at Val Thorens, France. At Kicking Horse, Molly Armanino claimed first in Ski Women, and Holden Samuels captured a second-place podium finish in Snowboard Men. The U.S. team’s consistency highlights their depth of talent and their growing dominance on the global freeride stage.

“It feels very good and very validating (to win),” said Molly. “In previous comps and situations, I felt like I was losing it a little bit and losing my touch with skiing, so it feels really good to find that again and to put a run down and not crash! I’m so happy to win in North America. Europe has different terrain and different snow and here for me, feels more predictable and comfortable. My mental coach is really helpful and he reaffirmed my options and contingency plans and helped me feel confident in my line choices this time around. Thank you Kicking Horse!”
